Goal Management
Goals give your analyses a target. When you link a SWOT, forecast, or Advisor session to a goal, the AI understands what success looks like for you — producing more focused, relevant output.
Creating a goal
- Click the Goals pill in the navigation bar (or go to Goals → New)
- Choose a goal type — Revenue, Cost Reduction, Market Expansion, Product, Operations, Fundraising, Personal, or Other
- Enter a title describing what you are trying to achieve
- Optionally set a target metric and target value — for example, metric: Monthly Revenue, value: 50000
- Set a target date
- Optionally choose a check-in frequency — how often (in days) you want to be reminded to record progress
Linking goals to your work
When starting a new SWOT analysis, forecast, or Advisor session, you can select an active goal from a dropdown. The AI receives that goal as context and tailors its output accordingly — for example, a SWOT linked to a revenue goal will emphasize the factors most likely to affect that number.
Recording progress (check-ins)
A check-in is a quick progress snapshot. Open the Goals panel from the nav bar and click Check In next to any goal — or use the Check in button next to each goal on the Goals list page. You will be asked to record:
- Outcome — Ahead, On Track, or Behind
- Actual value (optional) — the real number if you are tracking a metric
- Notes (optional) — anything worth recording about the current situation
The Goals list page shows your full check-in history for each goal. Each past check-in has an Edit button so you can correct the outcome, update the actual value, or add notes after the fact.
If you set a check-in frequency, the app sends you an in-app reminder notification when that interval elapses. Reminders appear in the notification bell at the top of every page.
Goals needing attention (dashboard)
The dashboard shows a Goals needing attention section when any of your active goals meet one of these conditions:
- The most recent check-in outcome is Behind
- The check-in interval has elapsed and no check-in has been recorded in that window
- The goal has never been checked in
Each entry in that section has an inline Check In button so you can record a progress update without leaving the dashboard.
Status dots
Each goal displays a colored dot based on its most recent check-in outcome:
- ● Green — Ahead or On Track
- ● Amber — Behind
- ● Grey — no check-in recorded yet
The Goals pill in the navigation bar also turns amber when any active goal is Behind, so you can spot problems at a glance from anywhere in the app.
Managing goals
From the Goals list you can:
- Edit — update the title, target, date, or check-in frequency
- Pause — keep the goal but stop check-in reminders
- Mark complete — archive the goal when you have hit your target
- Delete — permanently remove the goal
