Business Health Check (SWOT)

A Business Health Check takes a description of your business and produces a structured grid of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats — each item scored by how well-supported it is — plus a prioritised list of next steps.

Running a health check

  1. Click Start → in the top navigation, or go to Business → Health Checks (SWOT) and click New
  2. Give it a title, select your industry, and describe your business in the text box
  3. Optionally fill in the Optional context section — company size, revenue range, goals, target customers, differentiators. The more context you provide, the more specific and useful the output will be
  4. Add a Focus question if you want the AI to pay particular attention to something — for example: "Focus on whether our pricing model is sustainable"
  5. Optionally expand Add supporting documents and upload PDFs, text files, or CSVs (up to 10 MB each). These are read and factored into the analysis
  6. Click Build My Analysis →

The analysis runs in the background. You will be taken to a waiting page that updates automatically — it typically completes in 30–60 seconds.

Reading your results

The SWOT grid shows four quadrants — Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats. Each item has:

  • The finding itself
  • A confidence score (e.g. 85%) — how well-supported that finding is given the information you provided. Higher means it's firmly grounded in what you described.

Next Steps sit below the grid, grouped by priority — High, Medium, and Low. These are concrete recommended actions based on the findings.

What's changed since last time

If you have run a previous health check, the result page shows a What's changed since [date] section. This compares the current results to your last analysis and highlights:

  • New items (green) — findings that did not appear before
  • Resolved items (grey) — findings from the previous analysis that are no longer present

This is useful for tracking whether your business position is improving over time. To trigger this comparison, select a previous health check in the Update a previous analysis dropdown when creating a new one.

Exporting

Use the Download PDF or Download CSV buttons on the result page to export your analysis.
